RECAP OF LIGHTNING 6/1, including The Crusher's interruption of the Andersons vs New Age Outlaws match, causing the Outlaws to win the Tag Belts, and Dick The Bruiser saving Stone Cold Steve Austin from Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard
(Horsemen music starts. UCWF Champion Ric Flair, Ole and Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Baby Doll and James J. Dillon come to the ring.)
Dillon: Lately it seems there are those who would not appreciate the job that the Horsemen do in the ring. It seems there are those who strive to disrupt what we feel must be done. Let those people know that they will be dealt with most severly.
Flair (grabs the mic): J.J.! You're being too soft. I'm the Nature Boy! I'm the Champ! What I say, goes! Dick The Bruiser, you have no right to interfere in our business. So we're gonna take care of business, starting tonight. Because WE ARE the Four Horsemen. WE WILL take care of business the Horsemen way! Ole and Arn will soon get back what is rightfully theirs. Tully will soon get his gold back. But first, Bruiser, Crusher, your asses are mine! Tonight, you gonna pay the price.
(Dick The Bruiser and The Crusher come out to the ramp)
Bruiser: Hey Flair! You know you don't hafta shout. These people aren't hard a hearin'. You wanted us out here. Now what do you want?
Flair: Bruiser! As I was saying, your asses are mine! Tonight, it's gonna be me, Arn, and Tully against the two of you and a partner of your choice. Now we know that you would rather just face us by yourselves. If that's what you want, we'll do a handicap match. We don't care! Pal, when you stepped into the ring on Thursday, you signed your death warrant, pal! Because when you are the Nature Boy -- whooooo -- you get in the ring with whomever you want.
Bruiser: Flair, do these good Texans a favor, and shut the hell up! You're right. We don't need another partner to beat you up. Three on two is fine with us. In fact, (Bruiser and Crusher look at each other) we think a four-on-two right about now would be fine. (drops the mic and rushes the ring. Wild Brawl ensues. Horsemen start to take control after a long brawl. Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme comes on, and SCSA rushes the ring with a chair. Crusher, Bruiser and SCSA clean house.)

The next match is a Master of the Squared Circle First Round Match. This is a rematch from the draw which took place on Thursday. From Amarillo TX: Terry Funk. His opponent, from Pittsburgh PA: Bruno Sammartino
(Immediately they brawl at the ramp. They fight outside the ring for over 2 minutes, with Sammartino and Funk both getting posted. Finally they are in the ring. Sammartino has control through most of the match, mostly with rest holds. Funk gains control with fists, then a knee lift. Dory Funk comes to ringside. Ref leaves the ring to tell Dory to leave. Meantime, Bruno hits Terry with a high knee and covers him, but no ref. He leaves the ring and grabs the ref. Terry leaves and grabs Bruno, and they trade fists. Ref again tries to get Dory out. Bruno knocks Terry down next to ring, where he reaches and grabs a wrench. He nails Bruno in the head with the wrench, then crawls back to the ring. Ref turns back around and enters the ring. Counts Bruno out.)
Here is your winner: Terry Funk
(Stretcher is brought out for Bruno Sammartino)

The next match is for the United States title. Introducing first, the challenger: Jack Brisco. His opponent, the UCWF United States Champion: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
(Very scientific and fast-paced. Back and forth. At around 6 minute mark, Brisco gains control. Then Brisco misses a superfly leap from the top. Steamboat comes off top with flying body press. 1--2--3.)
Here is your winner, and still United States Champion: Ricky Steamboat
(After the match Steamboat looks up and Tully Blanchard is at the top of the ramp. The two have a staredown. Eventually Blanchard goes back to the locker room)
(Footage of Bruno Sammartino being loaded into an ambulance, taking him to the hospital)
(Mean Gene Okerlund tracked down the Horsemen) Mean Gene: Ric Flair, J.J. Dillon, if I may, I overheard you guys talking about something involving some kind of order. What did you...
J.J.: Hey, you keep out of Four Horsemen business! We have lots of, shall we day, business deals that the Horsemen attend to at all times. (Mean Gene tries to interrupt) I told you, little man, it's Horsemen business. Nothing more. (grins)

The next match is a Master of the Squared Circle First Round match. Introducing first: Bruiser Brody. His opponent, from Venice Beach CA: ladies and gentlemen, this is Sting!
(Not too scientific. Lots of elbows and clotheslines. Sting kept screaming. Bruiser gets control for much of the last half of the match. Sting reverses a throw to the turnbuckle, comes off with Stinger splash. Stinger puts Brody in scorpion deathlock. Brody taps out.)
Here is your winner: Sting!
(Report from Mean Gene Okerlund: I tried to talk to Hulk Hogan about his upcoming match against the Undertaker. He was completely unapproachable. He seems set on winning tonight. Of course, I'm sure Ric Flair is on his mind as well.)

Our next match is scheduled for one fall. (Real American plays) Introducing first, from Venice Beach CA: The Incredible Hulk Hogan! His opponent (old Taker music plays) from Death Valley: The Undertaker.
(This match is one of many that Hogan insisted on. He wants to beat anyone who's considered a top contender, so he can get a shot at the UCWF World Title. Quick match. Hogan has control for 3-4 minutes. Taker comes back with chops to the throat. Leaves the ring, gets a chair, comes back. Hogan mule-kicks chair into Taker's face. 1--2--kickout. Hogan grabs chair. Paul Bearer wrestles him for it. Taker hits Hogan from behind. Picks him up for tombstone. Hogan reverses, and gives Taker a tombstone. Knocks Paul Bearer off the apron, leg-drops Taker. 1--2--3.)
Here is your winner: The Incredible Hulk Hogan!
(Hogan grabs mic): Shut off my music. Now, all my little Hulkamaniacs notice that the Hulkster is missing something, brother! I'm talking about the Heavyweight Title. I've been here now for three months, and now I've had enough. I think I've proven my point to all the people in the back. I don't have to tell all these Hulkamaniacs that I am the real man around here! So Ric Flair, if you got the guts, come out and face me mano-a-mano brother! (No response) I'm getting tired of being ignored. So I'm issuing a challenge as all these Hulkamaniacs are my witnesses. I an issuing an open challenge to whomever is the World Heavyweight Champion after Master of the Squared Circle brother. And What Cha Gonna Do when the Largest Arms in the World and Hulkamania Runs Wild On You?!?

Our next match is a Master of the Squared Circle First Round match. Introducing first: from Princeton, MN: Bob Backlund. His opponent, from Kansas City: Handsome Harley Race.
(Pretty much a snorefest. In the end, Race missed a headbutt from the second turnbuckle. As Backlund knelt to pick him up, Race rolled him up. 1---2---3.)
Here is your winner: "Handsome" Harley Race.
(So the Elite Eight in the Master of the Squared Circle is now set.)
(Mean Gene is with Magnum T.A. in the locker room area)
Mean Gene: Magnum T.A., you finally have an opportunity to regain the Intercontinental Title.
Magnum: Mean Gene, you have no idea...how long I've waited for this opportunity. You know Shawn Michaels, I could lie and say that you've been running from me, that you've been avoiding me. But I know that you've had your hands full with the Hart Foundation. Well that's all good, but tonight you need to worry about me, the man you stole that belt from a couple months ago. I promise you, I'm bringing my "A" game with me. You better bring yours.

The next match is for the Intercontinental Championship. Introducing first, the challenger: Magnum T.A. His opponent (Boy Toy begins) from San Antonio TX: The UCWF Intercontinental Champion, The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels.
(Fast-paced match. Heck of a match. About 3 minutes into it, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart and British Bulldog come to the ringside area. Apparently, neither wrestler is too happy with their presence. After Magnum gets two near falls, HBK regains control. Has Magnum in trouble in the ropes. Comes off the other ropes to attempt a high body press, but misses and flies over the top rope out of the ring. The Hart Foundation immediately attack HBK. Ref calls for the bell. Magnum goes to his corner and gets his Louisville Slugger. Magnum nails Owen and Bulldog in the back. Eventually HBK and Magnum chase Hart Foundation out. Or, Harts choose to leave, whatever)
The winner, as a result of a disqualification: Magnum T.A.
(Title cannot change hands on a DQ, so Shawn Michaels is still the I-C Champ.)
(Footage of Jim Cornette with Stan and Bobby. Cornette: "I can't believe it, guys. We finally have our chance. All we have to do is win this next match by pinfall or submission, and we got a shot at the belts at M-S-C. I love it. Bobby, are you psyched?" Bobby: "Uh, sure." Cornette: "Stan, are...well, you're always ready. Let's go.")

(Jim Cornette is in the ring): Ladies and Gentlemen: presenting the greatest tag-team in the world today, every mother's nightmare, every schoolgirl's dream. Beautiful Bobby and Sweet Stan, the Midnight Express!
Their opponents: members of the Hart Foundation: Owen Hart and the British Bulldog.
(chorus of boos all around. Fast-paced. Much taging on both sides. Out of nowhere, when Owen has Bobby in a camel clutch, Shawn Michaels comes out with the Louisville Slugger and nails Owen in the back of the head. Ref calls for the bell. Everyone scatters. Shawn picks up Owen by the hair. Helps him to his feet. Dusts him off. Owen is out on his feet. Shawn turns around. Comes back with sweet chin music, knocking Owen out of the ring. Boy Toy plays)
Your winners, as a result of a disqualification: The Midnight Express.
(Footage of Crusher/Dick The Bruiser. Footage of the Horsemen. Flair to J.J. "Is it set up? Is it back there for us?" J.J.: "Don't worry about it, Champ. Everything is back there. It's taken care of." What could they be talking about? The main event is coming up next!)

Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by James J. Dillon: members of the Four Horsemen: Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and the UCWF World Heavyweight Champion: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Their opponents: Da Crusher and Dick The Bruiser!
(before the match starts, Stone Cold's theme plays.)
Their tag-team partner: Stone Cold Steve Austin!
(Brawl for a while. Finally, the Horsemen have SCSA under control. After a couple of minutes, SCSA nailes Blanchard, then makes the hot tag to Bruiser. Bruiser nails Blanchard, then Flair, then leaves the ring after Flair. As all 6 men fight, J.J. gets a pair of handcuffs and handcuffs SCSA to the middle rope. SCSA realizes too late. As the brawl contines, Ole Anderson comes out and it's 5 on 2 against Crusher and Bruiser. They put hoods over Crusher and Bruiser's heads. The Horsemen are taking them out of the arena. Where are they going? There's an 18-wheeler! There's a cage in that bigrig! Crusher is thrown into the little cage. Dick The Bruiser joins him in the cage. They lock the cage door. The Horsemen slam the truck door shut. The rig is driving off. Where is it taking them? How will Crusher and Dick the Bruiser ever find their way back?)
